Luís Sabino wins the first competition for Portugal

Luis Sabino Gonçalves won the first competition on the third day of the International Show Jumping Event Madrid 2009 that is taking place at the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid. The Portuguese rider finished the course faultless in 61.75 seconds with his gelding “In Hala D’En Haut”.

In the second place was the Austrian rider Thomas Fruhmann with “Rescue Me”. The best Spanish rider was Alfonso Arango who rode “Sambalita” and got the eighth position.

PIUS SCHWIZER WINS THE SMALL GRAND PRIX IN MADRID

The Swiss rider Pius Schwizer won the second competition of the day at the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid.

Schwizer rode “Ulisse” and defeted in the jump off to Lara Kraut with “St Laurent” who got the second position. In the third place was the French rider Michel Robert. The best Spaniard was the rider from Madrid Cayetano Martínez de Irujo who got the tenth position with “Magnun Du Verron”.

ELLEN WHITAKER WIND THE PUISSANCE

Ellen Whitaker riding “Ladina” won the spectacular Puissance Competition in front of a crowded arena at the Club de Campo Villa Madrid. The British rider jumped 2 meters and 5 centimeters. The Spanish rider Sergio Álvarez Moya with “Wisconsin III” could not jumped higher than the British and got the second position. In the third position was the Belgium rider Dirk Demeersman riding “Sherlock”. The forth place was for the veteran rider John Whitaker who rode “Casino”.
