Luis Astolfi won the Coca Cola Grand Prix for 7-year-old Horses

The final tests for young horses in this first week of competition will be taking place today.

Around 300 horses participated in the events for young horses yesterday. Tests for 5, 6 and 7 years, sponsored all by Coca Cola, were dominated by internationals riders on the second day of jumping competition.

First victory of the day was for Sam Hutton riding ¡°Fear Cavaletta 11¡å in the test for 5 year-old. German Annika Kreuzer finished second with ¡°Carry 74¡± and Brazilian Carlos Eduardo Mota Riba was third with ¡°Palm Beach¡±. Spaniard Alfredo Fern¨¢ndez Dur¨¢n was the best local rider with ¡°Huliora¡±

Up to 119 pairs took part in the test for 6 year-old horses. The Swiss Mariano Maggi was the winner of the event riding ¡°Citus Z¡±. Germany¡¯s Annika Kreuzer finished in the second place again, this time aboard ¡°Anahita¡±. Portuguese Antonio Fructuoso Melo was third with ¡°Baloubette dos Mont¡±. Alfredo Fernandez Duran was again the best local rider finishing sixth with ¡°Gabana¡±

In the last test of the day, Andalusian rider Luis Astolfi caused Spanish fans joy getting the victory in 7 years with ¡°Artist¡±. Belgian Dominique Joassin with ¡°Best of Opus dei Z¡± and his compatriot Gregory Whatelet with ¡°Viking¡± finished in second and third place respectively.
