Olympic medalist Lisa Wilcox only recently took over the ride on Queba HM, but she is already singing Queba’s praises which include winning the FEI Intermediaire 2 class at the Gold Coast Dressage Association Finale I Show. Wilcox and Queba won the blue in a class sponsored by Absorbine® Myoplast®, an amino acid supplement formulated to support muscle performance in high performance horses like Queba.
Lin said she competed the 12-year-old stallion up until recently, winning the Regional Championships for the Prix St. Georges and Intermediaire 1 on him in 2006. Due to the fact that Lin is now battling cancer, she made the decision to turn Queba over to Wilcox to compete.
Wilcox was equally enthusiastic about Queba and said their rides at the Gold Coast show are only a hint of things to come. “I’ve never been on another horse that can piaffe or passage like he does,” Wilcox said. “He may be one of those horses you only see once in a lifetime. I couldn’t have had a nicer Easter weekend — thanks to Queba.”
Lin, who owns White Fences Equestrian Center in Loxahatchee, plans on continuing to ride her other Lusitano Quemacho when she is feeling strong. Her farm, the original home of the Palm Beach Dressage Derby in the mid 80’s, will also hosts a series of shows each year called “Welcome Back to White Fences.”
