Lingh sold to Karin Reid Offield

One of the most inspiring dressage horses in the world has been sold to USA’s Karin Reid Offield: Lingh.

The charismatic 13 year old Dutch bred approved stallion owned by Dutch Theo van Sadelhoff stole the hearts of the dressage world with his phenomenal looks, elastic and powerful movement, and his world class piaffe and passage.

13 year old Lingh, until now partnered with Dutch Edward Gal, is the number one dressage stallion of the WBFSH ranking, counted from October 2005 till July 2006. He reaches the third place overall in the list, that is still led by Olympic champion Hanoverian gelding Keltec Salinero. Lingh was the Reserve Champion at the World Cup Finals in 2005 in Las Vegas and 2004 in Düsseldorf, and also on Holland’s Silver Medal winning team at this year’s World Equestrian Games and last year’s European championships in Verden.

Karin Offield from Offield Farms is very pleased to welcome Lingh to its fine collection of stallions. He now joins Tiamo Trocadero, the Olympic reserve horse for the 2000 British team in Sydney, and Hexagon’s Louisville, the 2006 USDF Amateur Grand Prix Horse of the Year and member of the 2004 National Dutch “B” Team showed by Leunus van Lieren.

Lingh will arrive in the United States in November and will be available to North American breeders in 2007.

“We are thrilled to have Lingh at Offield Farms!”, said Karin Reid Offield. “Like so many people, I have admired him for years. I have fallen in love with him at the World Cup Final in Vegas 2005 where he did win the Grand Prix. I consider him to be at the top of the world as a competitor and as well as a breeding sire. I am very excited to have him for both of these reasons, and want to set the record straight! I am honoured that I will be able to bring him to the United States!”

For the 2007 Las Vegas World Cup Final Karin Offield has no plans. “One day at a time. We’ll see how it goes. However I do hope to compete in the Florida circuit”, Offield comments. Edward Gal comments: “Working with Lingh is an absolute pleasure. He has an incredible character, a suppleness second to none and a fantastic attitude to work. Of course I am sad to lose him, however I feel this new owner is the best chance he could get now.”

Lingh’s successful career, his pedigree, his workmanlike attitude and conformation contributed to his approval as a licensed KWPN breeding stallion. His first foals have arrived and are proving that Lingh is a sire for the future.

For Karin, her mounts are riding horses first and breeding stallions second. “Riding and owning stallions is a great honour and obligation”, explained Grand Prix dressage rider Karin Reid Offield to Christine de Herrera in an interview.

“The superiority of stallions is not a myth. Their power is staggering. When you have a stallion’s attention and focus, there is nothing more magnificent.”

Lingh will be available via frozen semen.
