Jos Lansink won at Aachen the “Battle of the Sexes”

Jos Lansink, who rode the ten-year-old Belgian mare, Ta Belle van Sombeke, finished the winning round with the fastest time of 55.68 seconds, knocking Thomas Weinberg down to second place, who took over three seconds longer to complete the course.

The 19-year-old high school graduate from Herzogenrath is the son of Peter and Helena Weinberg and is competing at the CHIO for the second time. With his eight-year-old Oldenburg gelding, Ramino's Boy, he didn't just leave top female riders such as Meredith

Michaels-Beerbaum, Jessica Kürten and Christina Liebherr behind him in the “Battle of the Sexes”, but also his mother Helena. She took it with composure and laughed: “I can still beat him in the kitchen”.
