For the two times European champion and silver medallist of La Mandria Italy was Indoor Maastricht the first show partnering IPS Salinero. In the Mecc the pair was top class. They earned 3000 euro’s with two sweeping victories.
‘Above all this show was a training, what we practiced at home, we showed here’, mentioned Van Grunsven, referring to the ‘bigger’ passage and piaffe. ‘In the Grand Prix there was a slight tension during the whole test, therefore an unevenness in the first extended trot. And in the one and two times changes Salinero was tensed as well. But I am very satisfied with Salinero’, according to Anky. The Freestyle was of superior quality. The gap between the first and second place was big: 84.10 % and 72.20% for Stephanie Peeters partnering Jeff.
Stephanie Peeters (Roermond, Netherlands) was very satisfied as well. She guides her Jeff to two second places. The first part of the GP test was brilliant but the pair could not hold on the high level. In the Freestyle they showed tension during the test.
Maastricht was the first show in Holland again for the KWPN stallion Lingh. He is back in his native country for a training period and he ended up sixth in the GP as well as the Freestyle together with his owner and rider Karin Reid-Offield (USA).
Two more KWPN stallions ended up in the highest regions namely BMC Kigaly (Marlies van Baalen) on a third and fifth place and Broere Jazz (Kirsten Beckers) on place five and three.
