Helen Langehanenberg takes the WDM NÜRNBERGER Grand Prix

Germany’s Helen Langehanenberg and Damon Hill NRW (Westf. by Donnerhall) won today’s Nürnberger WDM Grand Prix presented by DCM Meststoffen in front of an enthusiastic crowd.

Damon Hill is an expressive horse and performed an energetic and fluent test with a beautiful extended trot, piaffe and passage. They only made a mistake in the flying changes and during the last halt. Three of the five judges placed the combination in first. “We had to work a little longer during the warm-up as it was a bit windy. The last line was my mistake, but I had a real good feeling in the passage and the half-passes,” said Helen afterwards.

Holland’s Daniëlle Heijkoop finished in the runner-up spot with Kingsley Siro (KWPN by Gribaldi) with a score of 75.766 %. Their test showed much energy and control. Kingsley was ridden forward and his piaffe was perfect. Daniëlle Heijkoop said “My Grand Prix debut was in the World Dressage Masters Youth Challenge in Munich in 2012. I’m really happy I was given the opportunity to start in the World Dressage Master event in Mechelen. Last year I could not come because Hans Peter Minderhoud and Edward Gal were competing here. It offers real good prizemoney and it is only a 2 hour drive from my home.”

Ulla Salzgeber and Herzruf’s Erbe (Rheinland by Herzruf) finished in third for Germany with a score of 74.362 %. Herzruf’s Erbe was a bit distracted in the beginning but that changed during the test. He showed much expression and his half-passes were perfect.

Fourth place went to Holland’s Katja Gevers and Thriller (KWPN by Gribaldi) who performed a controlled and energetic test with great piaffes. Since the WDM in Falsterbo the combination has made a lot of progress.

Sweden’s Patrik Kittel rode a good and controlled test with Toy Story (SWB by Comeback II). He showed an expressive extended trot. They finished in fifth with 71.617%.
