Great premiere for the 1st International Foal Auction at the Maas J. Hell Stallion Station

The first International Foal Auction of the Maas J. Hell Stallion Station and the Björn Nagel Stables in Klein Offenseth achieved a final total sales figure of 300,000 Euros.

A total of 34 fillies and colts were sold at auction in the hall of the stallion station. The top price of 30,000 Euros was achieved by a filly from Cascadello I, from Cagliostro’s Tinka III.

The highly-elegant brown filly, owned and bred by Dirk Hell (Klein Offenseth) was purchased by a German buyer. A total of 13 foals were sold for five-figure sums.

Buyers came to the auction premiere from the USA, Belgium, Ireland, Canada, Brazil, the Netherlands, France, Poland and Switzerland, as well as Germany.

The average price of the foals was 8,800 Euros.

The auction was jointly organised for the first time by station owner Herbert Ulonska and showjumper Björn Nagel from Friedrichskoog. Both men were entirely focused on the the matter of performance.

The auctioned foals all came from tried and tested, successful sporting lineages of all the warm-blooded breeds. These included foals of French and Belgian stallions, as well as the offspring of established Holsteiner stallions. Star sire Calido I had four foals in the auction, the same number as stallion Casall, who achieved international success with former European Champion Rolf-Göran Bengtsson.

The second most expensive foal was sold to a German buyer for 21,000 Euros, a colt from Spartacus HAN, from a Carinjo-mother, from breeder Jörg Harder, Wewelsfleth.
