Francisco Guedes a revelation in the Small GP

The Dutch rider Wim Schröder was in a hurry: he had to catch his plane to Amsterdam just after the Corunna City hall Grand Prix. It is may be why he was so quick in the jump-off!

During our last interview, the poor winner was a bit stressed, but he answered our question gently, while he was changing his clothes to go in the plane; just enough time to give his impression about the course: “It was a difficult class. It was not too high, but difficult. A lot of horses got problems with the distances: forward and backward. ” Last year, Wim Schröder won the Grand Prix here, at Corunna before he broke his leg: “I could not ride until the summer and it was a hard time for me, but now the horse is coming back and I am very satisfied to have won this class even if it was not the biggest. It shows that Eurocommerce Montreal is on the way back to be the horse he was before.” After Corunna, Wim will have a rest, thinking of the new season. What can one wish him for 2006 : “A lot of good success!” No time for more questions, Wim rushed to the Porsche Cayene which was waiting for him to drop him at the airport.

Good performance to mention for the Portuguese rider Francisco Guedes, first clear-round in the jump-off and who finished 2nd with his German gelding Cosmos. The performance of Meredith Beerbaum with the horse of her husband Markus, Le Mans, who jumped 20cm over all fences, was very interesting. Meredith kept quiet in the jump-off, went slowly but sure to claim the 3rd place. We would have like to know more about her feeling about her “new” horse. But Meredith was already in the Cayenne, waiting for Wim!
