First Global Champions Tour victory for Shutterfly in Arezzo

The seventh event of the Global Champions Tour, presented by CN WorldWide and CN, was staged at the beautiful Equestrian Centre of Jump Italia in Tuscany, Italy.

45 combinations started in the “Città di Arezzo Grand Prix”. The best 16 combinations came back for the second round, among which were 11 combinations with a clear first round and the other five with 4 faults.

Among the clear combinations were Nick Skelton (GBR) with Parko, winner of the GCT in Estoril and runner up in Valkenswaard and Hubert Bourdy (FRA) with Toulon who won the GCT in Sao Paulo and was fourth in Valkenswaard.

In round two five combinations managed to be double clear and advanced to the jump off. First to go was Hubert Bourdy (FRA) and Toulon (Hearthbreaker x Nikita) who unfortunately missed the last of the triple combination and came in fifth place. Home rider Guiseppe D´Onofrio had with Landzeu 2 the first clear round in 42.07 seconds much to the delight of the many visitors. Laura Kraut (USA) and Anthem (Dutch Boy x Triton) beat that time with almost two seconds in 40.29. Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum and Shutterfly flew around the course and beat Laura´s time with more then two seconds in 38.05.

Last to go in this exciting jump off were Albert Zoer (NED) and Okidoki (Jodokus x Topas) who tried but could not just get Meredith´s time. They finished in 39.28 seconds in second place.

Albert Zoer: “I am very happy with how Okodoki jumped here today and of course also with the considerable amount of prize money!”
