Farewell to Anthony in Münich

Farewell to Anthony in Münich

Dressage at the highest level and Show jumping from an extraordinary level was showed this week-end on the final day of the Munich Indoors.

The Olympic winner of 1996 Isabell Werth did win all the dressage tests. On Sunday she managed to win the Grand Prix Special aboard her Oldenburg-bred gelding Apache.

About 5000 cheering and clapping enthusiastic visitors showed their enthusiasm for the 19 year old Anthony saying goodbye to the crowds by winning his very last Freestyle test. Isabell Werth travelled with Anthony to Las Vegas last spring to prepare for her old star a beautiful goodbye at the World Cup Final. Anthony didn’t survive the vet check and so ‘the old smart haze’ decided himself about his planned future, like the character-horse has always done, Isabell said at that occasion.

In tears Isabell Werth rode her very last lap of honour on Anthony, who gave her so much and who decided to prefer the German crowds for his last farewell show instead of the world platform of the World Cup Final in Las Vegas!
