Dubai invitations to the Al Maktoum Challenge

The Dubai Equestrian Club has announced that it has sent the invitations to the world´s richest ever jumping show. In its inaugural year, in 2006, The Al Maktoum Challenge, 11th-13th January, will be offering a staggering prize fund of $1,250,000 (US) and has sent invitations to the top 20 international show jumpers*, alongside an FEI World Cup Jumping Competition for the Arab League. A further four wild cards have been issued to Francois Mathy Jnr. (BEL), Ian Millar (CAN), Jean-Marc Nicolas (FRA) and John Whittaker (GBR) with one further wild card to be announced.

The brainchild of international show jumper HRH Princess Haya who is married to HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, will host the Arab League World Cup Qualifier in the three matinee performances, whilst the International Section is reserved for the evening floodlit sessions.
