CSIO3*Odense: Ukraine secures second consecutive victory
It was an extremely thrilling team competition today at Odense Horse Festival sponsored by ECCO. 13 nations met in the battle for valuable points in the worldwide team competition, Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup presented by Orifarm.
Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup were held for the third consecutive time at Odense Horse Festival – the home team of Denmark has not been very successful on home ground in the decisive phase and have not made the cut between the top eight teams into second round the previous years. This year was a different story; the Danes finished in seventh place after the first round and advanced into fourth position. Much to the delight of the enthusiastic home crowd.
SECOND CONSECUTIVE VICTORY FOR UKRAINE
After the first round it was clear that Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup in Odense would be a battle between three strong nations the Netherlands (who are reigning World and European champions), Belgium (winner of Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup finals in 2015) and Ukraine. In the second round Belgian lost terrain, while the Netherlands and Ukraine battled it out between them.
Ukraine secured the victory for the second consecutive time and is now in the lead in Europe division 2 after securing a second place at Linz-Ebelsberg (AUT) and a victory at Celje (SLO).
The Ukrainian riders agreed, the course in Odense was very demanding, with the challenging Longines tribble combinations acting as a joker in the competition.
