Carrico/Drosselklang II-son wins Free Jumping Test

It was an exciting and thrilling decision at the Free Jumping Competition of four-year-old horses of the Hanoverian Jumper Breeding Program in Verden on Wednesday, February 18. And only slight differences decided on victory and placements. A brilliantly jumping, athletic Carrico/Drosselklang II-son became Champion of horses, born in 2011. The futurity prospects were judged by German topriders and trainers Carsten-Otto Nagel and Dieter Smitz.

44 four-year-olds showed up in the Niedersachsenhalle to compete in two divisions. The licensed stallion Vucello by Uccello/Cranach (breeder: Dr. Sabine Plaß, Burgdorf, exhibitor: Fritz Dieter Tietjen, Bremen) won the first division with a final score of 25.7 points. The big-framed grey Champion de Dinard by Corlensky G/Dinard L (breeder and exhibitor: Kurt-Heinrich Boettcher, Brueninghorstedt) took a clear lead in the second division with a final result of 27.1 points. However, he was then only just beaten by a Carrico/Drosselklang II-son (breeder and exhibitor: Herrmann Rink, Seulingen), who claimed victory with only one tenth ahead as the judges honoured his performances with a final score of 27.2. “Potential is always up-to-date,” said Team and European Champion Carsten-Otto Nagel and praised Hanover's futurity show jumping stars

Reward for the exhibitor of the best four-year-old was a free breeding of the Celle state stud stallion Diacontinus. The insurance company VGH-Versicherungen has been a reliable partner of the Hanoverian Jumper Breeding Program since 1997. The next free jumping competition will be held on Wednesday, April 8, in Verden when the three-year-olds will compete for victory and placements.
