Brits continue winning streak in Mijas

Lauren Edwards managed to pick up at the Costa del Sol Equestrian Tour in Mijas exactly where she left off yesterday – leading the field. Young horse Breit Star provided the 22 year old with another victory on day two of the tour.

Breit Star is offspring of Breitling LS, though seemingly has nothing to do with the dressage horse sire, but rather with the licensed stallion who achieved sporting success with US rider Elisabeth Madden and Dutchman Sjaak Sleijderink. Lauren Edwards is in any case thoroughly satisfied with her Breitling offspring. With temperatures of 14 degrees Celsius and predominantly sunny weather, riders and horses are enjoying riding outside in Mijas, and the race track is proving extremely popular. The chance to let the horses have a good gallop, completely at ease, has gone down well with both the two and four-legged guests.

Hot on the heels of all the riders arriving from across Europe and further afield, artist Jürgen Nobert Fux from Austria has also touched down in Mijas, where he will open a private viewing on Thursday at the Costa del Sol Equestrian Tour. Fux combines his passion for portrait photography with special materials. The interaction between complex and perfect photography and the carrier mediums of glass, furs or cow hide breaks with classical representations of figures. Fux has been a guest in Spain many times, and exhibits worldwide, for example in Los Angeles in 2014 with the ARTenschutz art project or at ART Monaco.
