At the CDI3* Sao Paulo everyone was waiting for the desired percentages needed for the the Olympic Games. Canadian Official FEI Judge, Elizabeth McMullen could have given the 64% and stamp some Brazilian passports to Hong Kong. Unfortunately it did not happen yet. There will be another chance in two weeks time at the same place.
“We are more and more confident and trust that we will send one or two Lusitanos to the Olympic Games”, the organisers reacted.
It was interesting that from the seven competitors, four were imported ‘ready trained’ horses, the other three were Brazilian born and trained Lusitanos.
Bronze medal winner of the Pan Am Games Nilo showed by Rodger Clementino was the best.
International Luso-Brasileiro Auction at Coudelaria Ilha Verde
Brazilian top breeders Victor Oliva, Tonico Pereira, Paulo Salles, Luiz F. de Assis Salgado, Jose Carlos Macedo, Manuel Tavares de Almeida Filho, Manuel Braga, Coimbra and Manuel Manuel Veiga, organize the 11th International Luso-Brazilian Auction, the bigger and better event of Lusitano breed in Brazil, that will be held on May 10, in Coudelaria Ilha Verde, located at Araçoiaba da Serra – SP on Saturday before the XXVII International Exposition of Pure Blood Lusitano.
Victor Oliva, proprietor of Ilha Verde, confirms that the quality of horses has also improved exponentially over the years: “The high quality and functionality of our horses is now very well established, and we also offer good veterinary safeguards as well as well-known and popular ancestral pedigrees. The success of our exports has also generated more and more international interest.”
