126th Hanoverian Elite Auction
The 126th Elite Auction of Hanoverian riding horses and foals will be held in Verden on April 13 and 14. The collection features 72 riding horses and 47 foals.
The Gala Evening Show on Friday evening will introduce the Elite Auction weekend with an interesting mixture of equine spring messengers offering our audience an entertaining show program. The auction on Saturday will start on time at 3.00 pm.
It is the first time that the auction training time was reduced from 20 to 13 days. Reason for this decision was to ensure the well-being of the futurity prospects and to avoid overtaxing them before the auction. The riding horses will arrive in Verden on April 2 to be stabled at the new premises of the Niedersachsenhalle. They will be presented on 12 days. Highlights in the training schedule will be Easter Sunday with the horses being shown as of 11.00 am during the Easter brunch, and Easter Monday when up-to-date video shootings of the training will be available on the Internet.
A specialty in the spring collection is the great number of riding stallions: Eleven dressage and seven show jumping stallions will be offered for sale. There will be progeny by approved stallions like Don Frederico and Lauries Crusador xx. The dressage horse collection will be complemented by offspring by St. Moritz, Sir Donnerhall, Londontime, Scolari, Rousseau and Hochadel. The stallions Christ, Con Amore, Liberty Gold and Fürst Romancier will celebrate their debut as supplier of auction horses. Hofmarschall V by Hotline/D'Accord, a licensed and performance tested stallion who won the bronze medal in the division of four-year-old stallions at the 2011 Federal Championships, is one of the most captivating horses in the dressage horse collection. Don Ed Hardy by Donnerball/Weltmeyer, a licensed stallion who already won elementary level dressage horse ability competitions, and Wilkens by Waterford, a licensed and performance tested stallion, displaying promising initial stages of piaffe and passage for the Grand Prix, are more promising futurity prospects.
The quality of the show jumping collection is hard to top. Sires likes Perigueux, Stakkato, Stolzenberg, Now or Never, Valentino and Stalypso are strongly represented. The overall champion of the Free Jumping Competition of four-year-old horses in Verden, Skylook by Stolzenberg/Athletico, convinced the selection committee right away.
It is a tradition that the collection of the Spring Auction is complemented by an outstanding selection of foals. Experienced breeders will present progeny by Christ, De Niro, Don Index, Foundation, Grey Top, Quasar de Charry and Spörken. The foals will be shown the first time on Friday, April 14, as of 9.00 am in the outdoor ring before they will be presented in the Niedersachsenhalle on Saturday, as of 1.00 pm, and be put up for auction after the riding horses at approx. 6.00 pm.
The Hannoveraner Verband invites for the traditional Gala Evening Show on Friday, April 13. The entertaining show program for young and adult horse enthusiasts, focusing on the Hanoverian and the Verden auction horse, will start as of 8.00 pm. The stallion quadrille will celebrate its debut: eight licensed and active stud stallions will present advanced level dressage exercises under the direction of Jonny Hilberath, and they will let every breeder's heart beat higher. The Gala Evening Show program will be rounded off by the darling of the public, Lumba the Lion, and by the show presentation “Desert Wind”, presented by the riding clubs Aller-Weser/Verdener Schleppjagdreitverein. And not least: the foal that will be raffled off in favour of the Hanoverian Supporter's Club FRH.
