The opening first 5-stars class of the Jumping International de Bordeaux, the Prix de la Foire Internationale, has been won by Frenchman Julien Gonin riding the well-named Well Done.

The 15-year-old KWPN is almost a veteran: “He is a creature of habit now and I use to ride him in Grand Prix as well as in speed classes. He wins a lot and it is always a pleasure to ride him”.  With less than a second behind the French, is Dutch star and rider of the year 2017 Harrie Smolders with Monaco followed, with more than 7 seconds, by Marcus Ehning riding his handsome grey stallion Cornado.

Julien Gonin’s performance will certainly give him a big boost of confidence for Saturday’s Longines FEI World Cup qualifier where he will be once again facing the world’s best riders.

“It is always a pleasure to start the Jumping International of Bordeaux, with a victory” said Julien.
